This is the
final book in a trilogy that began with Across
the universe. Amy and Elder have finally made it to the new planet but all is
not as it appears. How will the 'frozens' interact with the shipborns? What are
the monsters? Who is trying to destroy the colony before it has a chance to
settle? Who will survive?
This
thrilling conclusion is a little bit different from the previous books as we
now get to discover a new world with new threats. It's a non-stop ride from
landing to finish. Amy struggles with still being seen as an outsider by the
shipborns and being disillusioned with her parents. Elder is confronted with
being a leader to his people when the frozens try to take over. Orion's warning
is finally realised and watch out for a major twist! Shades of Earth kept me on the edge of my seat and will appeal to
those who enjoy a little science fiction with their dystopia.
