This is an intricate story which covers parallel stories of 2 kids who love museums, movies, wolves, and making maps and models.
When Ben is struck by lightning he starts a crazy journey to find his father (whom he has never met before), by travelling to New York. This story is told in both words and pictures, which makes it a real page-turner. It combines the best parts of reading a chapter book and browsing a graphic novel. Even though it is a made up story, it has lots of links to real life, such as exhibits which are actually at museums in New York.
It is by the same author who wrote The Invention of Hugo Cabret (the book which the film Hugo was based on) which is another fantastic read in both words and pictures.
