Undead by Kirsty McKay

Zombie books becoming popular? Really? I thought I should read one, so I chose a recent book - Undead  - mainly because it has great cover art and the plot sounded interesting. Here's what it's about...
On the bus returning from a ski-trip, new schoolgirl Bobbie decides to wait on the bus rather than go inside when it pulls into a truckstop in the middle of nowhere, Scotland. That's when stuff goes wrong. The kids and teachers returning to the bus from the café walk funny, and on closer inspection turn out to be shuffling, drooling, blood-thirsty undead. Bobbie and fellow student Smitty must negotiate this strange turn of events, first from the bus, and later cross-country while trying to survive and solve the puzzle of what turned their classmates (and everyone else in the countryside) into mindless zombies. Totally silly, but also pretty scary, this was a great escape into this latest popular horror genre with a neat twist at the end. Lots of fun!
