After by Morris Gleitzman

This is the fourth book about Felix, a Jewish boy struggling to survive in Nazi occupied Poland whose story has been told in Once,Then and Now.

After is set in 1945 as the war draws to an end. Felix has spent two years hiding in a pit dug into the floor of a barn, but circumstances beyond his control draw him out of hiding. He joins a band of Partisans, or resistance fighters, in the struggle to defeat the Nazis and free Poland.

Told with the simplicity of a child, this wonderful story is filled with warmth and humor, while confronting the reality of life and death during war. A book which will touch children and adults alike.
