It's Inky's time! Voting now open....


Hooray, the shortlist for the 2014 Inky awards has been announced! If you don't know what I'm talking about, the Inky Awards recognise outstanding young adult literature, and are selected by, and judged by, young adults right here in Melbourne. The awards are divided into two categories, the Gold Awards (for Australian books) and the Silver Awards (for International books).

The short list for this year's awards was announced at the Melbourne Writer's Festival, and voting has opened!

Voting runs from 25 August - 5 October, so get reading and get voting!

Inky Winners 2013!!

Hooray, it's that time of year when the winners of the Inky's are finally revealed! You can read more about the Inky's on the Insideadog blog (and watch an entertaining acceptance video from one of the winners).

But, without further ado, this year's Gold Inky Award (for an Australian title) goes to....

My life is an alphabet by Barry Jonsberg!!!!



















And the Silver Inky Award (for an International title) goes to....

The Raven boys by Maggie Stiefvater!!!

It's the Inky's!! Have you looked at the longlist yet?

Yep, it's exciting! The Inky's longlist has been announced for 2013, giving you a ready selection of the best in national and international YA fiction to peruse (if you haven't done so already). Inside a dog is a wonderful blog run by the State Library of Victoria, celebrating all literary-YA-stuff!

For those of you who haven't seen them, you can have a look at the nominated books below! The long list is divided into two categories: Gold Inky (Australian authors) and Silver Inky (international authors).
