Help Boroondara Library Service celebrate 150 years and give yourself the chance to win an iPod Touch. All you have to do is produce a book trailer for one of Boroondara's 150 favourite books.
Here's what you need to know:
- The book trailer must be for a book on Boroondara's 150 favourite books list which you can find here.
- It must be 60 seconds long or under.
- It must be suitable for general viewing.
- You need to be aged between 10-18.
- You need to be a library member to enter. If you're not, you can pop in and join (if you are under 18 you'll need Mum or Dad to come with you and sign up as your guarantor).
- You can make a video as a group but one person needs to be the nominated entrant. So make sure it's someone you trust to share the prize with you.
- The video must be yours. To help us be sure it is, include something that makes it obvious. A mention of Boroondara. A sign wishing the library a happy birthday. Something like that.
- You can only enter one book trailer per library membership.
You can make the video however you like. Act something out and film it. Write a song about the book and perform it. Do some animation or claymation. Make a screencast or a bunch of text rolling across the screen. Write stuff in flour like those Baker's Delight ads. Use your imagination.
First, second, and third place prizes of an iPod Touch, iPod Nano, and iPod Shuffle will be awarded based on a vote. All details about voting will be available here on the blog on Monday 28th. There will also be "Librarian's Choice" prizes awarded by our team of Librarians.
The deadline for entries is midnight, Friday March 25th. Voting will commence on the blog on March 28th.
To enter, upload your video to YouTube, then send an email to aboutthebooks@gmail.com. In the email include the following information:
- Your name.
- Your age.
- Your library card number.
- A link to the video.
It's a good idea to subscribe to the blog via RSS or email (see the sidebar) to keep up with any updates and entries as they are posted. You'll also be treated to book reviews by staff and other readers. Of course, while you're here you can also submit your own book reviews too.
If you have questions, ask in the comments below, or email aboutthebooks@gmail.com.
How many times are you permitted to enter?
ReplyDeleteNiamh - Thanks for the question. Each person can only enter once. I've updated the conditions to reflect this.
ReplyDeleteI have added some more detail about the prizes and how they are awarded.
