I finally got around to seeing the Divergent movie and I’ve
got to say, I was pretty impressed. I’ve really enjoyed the Hunger Games
movies but as much as I love Jennifer Lawrence, she’s just not how I pictured
Katniss in the books - she’s far too tall for a start! Because of this (and
because I had heard that the City of Bones movie was pretty terrible) I was a
bit hesitant to see Divergent. Thankfully though, I was quite
surprised. Shailene Woodley was a good choice for Tris and I was pretty
happy with Four too. The movie stays pretty true to the book and I think
the world created by Veronica Roth translated well to the screen. To be honest,
I didn’t read past Divergent in the series but I am definitely looking forward
to seeing the next movie… and I just might get around to reading Insurgent
while I wait.
