Budding writers have until 5pm on Friday 30 August 2013 to submit their entries into the Young Writers Competition of the Boroondara Literary Awards. Winning entries will not only be published in the annual anthology Word You Up, but they also win cash prizes!
The Young Writers Competition is divided into two categories:
Junior writers:
School kids in years 7-9 who live, or attend school, in the City of Boroondara.
Prose entries: between 500-900 words
Poetry entries: less than 200 lines
Senior writers:
School kids in years 10-12, who live, or attend school, in the City of Boroondara.
Prose entries: between 900-1300 words
Poetry entries: must be less than 200 lines.
Prizes:
1st: $600
2nd: $300
3rd: $200
