One long thread by Belinda Jeffrey

In this beautifully written story Belinda Jeffrey weaves a tight tale with all the characters bound together by the one long thread of their past and family ties which can’t be broken. Ruby and Sally are twins; they are close but like chalk and cheese.  Ruby the quiet introspective one who loves to create things from fabrics while dreaming of being a fashion designer.

Sally the brash outward going one who longs to stretch her wings and fly, attracted to boys like a moth to a flame.  When their parents divorce they are separated.  Ruby stays with her father in Melbourne and Sally moves to Darwin with her mother, where her mother becomes immersed in a cult religion.
When tragedy strikes, the one long thread which connects Ruby to Sally is stretched and reshaped as Ruby comes to terms with her grief.
