Between shades of gray by Ruta Sepetys

Based on true events, this is the harrowing story of Lina Vilkas who was deported with her family from Lithuania in 1941 by Stalin’s secret police. The family are sent to live in primitive conditions in remote Siberia where the death rate is high and hope of survival is slim.  They are part of the terrible forced labour camps where thousands died. Despite these terrible conditions Lina’s story is one of humanity and hope.

What now?
