Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb was a great book. While being quite political it is full of suspense and intrigue. The storyline flows logically and is based around an illegitimate heir to the throne in medieval times. He learns to become an assassin and must look after himself in difficult circumstances. A boy, a wolf, political fighting and assassins... What's not to like?
