Openly straight by Bill Konigsberg

Rafe has been openly gay since 8th grade and his parents and community are relaxed about it.  But when Rafe moves schools, he takes it as a chance to get away from being known primarily as ‘the gay guy’.  Suddenly he has a new circle of athletic straight guy friends and a chance to be whoever he wants. The difficulties start when he falls for one of his new straight friends. This is a funny book full of unexpected twists. It explores love, friendships and the importance of embracing your true identity.
