Joyous & Moonbeam by Richard Yaxley

When 15 year old Ashleigh Summers meets Joyous at a sheltered workshop where he works, she is angry and disillusioned with her family and her life.

Joyous, who is Joyous by name and by nature, calls Ashleigh, Moonbeam, and an unlikely friendship and mutual respect develops between them. Joyous shows Moonbeam that, though life is tough, as his dead father puts it, "all life is joyous, even the bad bits. You just have to work them around a bit." A wonderful, uplifting story.
